On Saturday, October 27, I was praying with a friend and he prayed that God would speak to me the next day through the pastor of the church. The next day, the only thing the pastor said was the following verses: 17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 19 The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. ... ( Habakkuk Chapter 3 ). When I looked in my Bible I noticed an old hand written note at the bottom of the page which read: The Spirit Filled Bible states the Hebrew word for joy is gil ( v18 )**. This reference also notes this word originally meant " to spin around with intense motion." |
A number of years ago I went to a mid- week meeting. The intention of the leader was to play a video but they couldn't get it to work so they decided to praise the LORD. I remember singing and dancing at the back of the church building. I started to spin around with intense motion and felt as if chains were flying off! Two people later testisfied of healings during this session! * * From Strong's we find: Hebrew Word: LygTransliterated Word: giyl

Yes. I heard that definition of "rejoice" (to leap and spin) and I like it. I imagine that's what King David did when his wife Michal was offended at seeing him jumping around like a maniac showing himself to the servant girls. Foolishness. I went through a "stage" of this a few years ago, and I enjoyed worship and praise very much then. Yes, there's freedom in this because I stopped worrying about what people thought about me. My eyes were on God and enjoying His pleasure in wild abandonment in worship. Wild. My God is wild. He likes it. I like it.

... AND God can speak through an ass (donkey)... Numbers 22. Last Sunday I was given a small booklet about church life, asked to read the same and be prepared in the near future to make a committment to the local church. In one section the author talks about God speaking to a person through the elders of the church. The author of the booklet says, " You can receive orders directly from the King. How? By the Holy Spirit, by prayer, and by the instruction book - the Bible. But there's another means... Jesus has put in the church a structure of delegated authority. The elders, as shepherds of the flock, share some of Christ's authority in order to lead Chrsitians in the right ways. " Two verses mentioned are:
1 Cor.12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Ephesians 4:11, 12 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: |
Sounds Ok, but the question is: "Is the pastor listening to the LORD and following Him?" If the pastor is not following the LORD we have a scenario where: ...the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. ( Matt 15:14 ). Any comments!!!
