Regarding Web Site Makeover Recently I tried the use of Netscape Composer to spice up the page look. An example of this experiment is at:- www.angelfire.com/md3/pafn777/painful2.htmlIn this example there are 2 columns and 1 row which seems to work OK in various browsers but when I went to 2 columns and 2 rows it looked fine in the Netscape browser but in IE it did not function. Please advise if you have any suggestions or advice.

How to Have a Christian Web Site On A Shoe String
A number of years ago I said to one of my family members, " Money is not the major criterion in in computer work BUT THE TIME! " Later he told me that comment was the greatest understatement of the century.
I believe, there are 2 major factors in web sites:-
1. the construction 2. the promotion.
In this posting I would like to briefly review the second item.
Methods used to promote the PAFN web site to date have included the following:-
a. newsletters ... both ONLINE and hard copy b. tracts ... both ONLINE and hard copy c. forums ... others and PAFN. d. articles ... posting on other sites and PAFN e. audio ... "own" ( Doreen Irvine clips ) and links to others f. prayer requests ... on PAFN and farm out g. Bible search tools h. guest book i. site rankings ... Christian and secular j. search engine placings
Hope some of these notes are helpful to someone out there considering building their site from scratch or doing a makeover!

WRITING FOR THE WEB* insert text inside a table that only takes up part of the page * use a larger font size * insert larger spaces between lines of text * use plenty of headingss and sub-headings * use bulleted and numbered links to break up text ...The difference can be dramatic. As an experiment can include simple pages as a bridge from secular topics to more spiritual. An example SWING LOW - RUGBY PLUS :- www.angelfire.com/md3/pafn777/swinglow.html

Have probably mentioned this before! The other thought is why have a web site / forum if you only have a few vistors! On the angelfire site:- www.angelfire.com/md3/pafn777/ have a site tracker on some of the pages and I know one of pages which attract traffic is the forum. Another active page is the one on Doreen Irvine ... one time queeen of the witches for Europe who came to Christ. I met her last year ... The URL on the new PAFN site is:- pafn.co.uk/doreenirvine.html In fact someone just did a Google search a few minutes ago for Doreen Irvine which steered them onto PAFN. Somebody today said, "the forum is the best thing that you can have on the website. And it being used in a godly way the Lords hand and blessing and favor is on it so you cant go wrong there. I know you have to pray about it but I still think phpbb is the right format for you to use." ".. you need to go to www.myfreeebb.com and you can set up your forum from that site and it will be phpbb. That way you could close down the forum at your main site and fix a link to the new one. " Also 7cworldwide suggested:- "If you have your own webspace, I'd recommend using the latest version of phpBB (2.0.14) — www.phpbb.com/downloads.php — that way you don't have to send your users to another site... and you can do with it whatever you like... there are lots of good mods you can put in if you have full control of your databases and code." If anyone else has more thoughts on this subject ... please advise. Shalom
