GREETINGS FROM BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND
OCTOBER 2004
In the past throughout history, including this nation’s history, God has come in His mercy, and through prayer and the declaration of the Gospel, has changed the course of a Nation’s history. We believe it is the same today. Surely we are not going to be the generation that let the Gospel light go out in our nation. The Lord is our refuge and strength. Praise the Lord for assembling multitudes of his people and churches, from the north, south, east, west, even from the ends of the earth, delivering them from spiritual slothfullness.
A TRUMPET CALL – NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER AND PROCLAMATION – THE NEC ARENA, BIRMINGHAM. SATURDAY 30 OCTOBER 2004 – 11 AM – 9.30 P.M.
WPC has taken a step of faith in booking 10,000 seats at the NEC Arena for this day. There is tremendous support and interest across the nations, but because it is a non ticketed event, the only way of knowing approximate numbers is if people return the reply/commitment slip inside the booking form. Have you returned your reply slip? WPC has to send a twice weekly report to the NEC with updated figures expected to attend so they can arrange their own staffing for the day.
We need approximately 100 people to volunteer as stewards.
If you live outside the UK, we would really appreciate your prayers for our Nation leading up to 30 October and on the day itself.
So we go to war. God has asked us to blow a trumpet and we are asking you and your friends to rally to the Trumpet Call for the sake of His name, His Kingdom, our children and our children’s children. So the “Trumpet Call” is because God said, “When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies.” Numbers 10.
Please stand with us, we know that God has called us to blow the trumpet and by His grace, we will, the Lord will help and strengthen us.
INTERNATIONAL PRAYER COUNCIL CONSULTATION
WPC is being represented at this Consultation in Thailand 1 – 10 October. Prayer Leaders from every region of the world will be gathering for a working conference at this time of such momentous challenges facing us all around the world. There will be a mixture of reports, interactive discussion and much prayer. They are also meeting in conjunction with the Lausanne Forum on World Evangelisation with some of the sessions overlapping. Some of the issues to be covered by IPC are: Global inquiry, transformation and the Great Commission; 10/40 Window; poverty; corruption and terrorism; fundamentalism and ethnic conflicts; globalization. Emphasis to be on what God can do in creating hope and confidence through answered prayer. They will also be finalising the Global Prayer Day on Pentecost Sunday 2005. God is mobilising His prayer army around the world. Please pray for Ian Cole as he and a colleague from Switzerland represent Western Europe at this Consultation. Also for all the other delegates that God will grant His wisdom, humility, servant-hood and unity during the gathering, that great exploits will be accomplished for the extension of the Kingdom of God.
